The Warriors vs the ’95 Bulls

Charles Barkley went on the radio yesterday and said the 2015 Golden State Warriors would have no chance against the 1995 Chicago Bulls. “That Bulls team would kill this little team,” he said. More specifically, he said, Michael Jordan would score a bunch of points, Dennis Robinson would grab a bunch of rebounds, and Scottie Pippen would be a matchup nightmare.* Whether he’s right or wrong, there is no surprise the 52-year-old Barkley prefers the team from 20 years ago. Far more often than not, fans side with players and teams from their era over the current one.

Keenan Reynolds’ Heisman Snub

Davidson College will not retire Stephen Curry’s jersey. It has nothing to do with basketball accomplishments, obviously. Curry took the small North Carolina school to athletic heights it had never reached. As you may have heard, his NBA career has also been successful. From a hoops standpoint, if Curry’s jersey were not worthy of retirement than there is no sense in hanging jerseys anywhere.

Three Point Contest Preview

Looking for a winner in tonight’s NBA All Star three-point contest? How about reading my preview for Vice Sports? I used Vantage Sports’ incredible statistical database to assess the field. Instead of just regular shooting percentages, I looked at the numbers for wide-open attempts, which better approximate the shooting that will take place tonight.
