LSU got a much-needed win, but squeaking past Florida doesn’t tell us all that much. I take a look at that game and everything else in the SEC in my weekly report for CBS Local.
LSU lost at home to Troy, calling into question their head coach’s capabilities. Those questions are getting louder in Knoxville after Tennessee was smacked by a Georgia team that, along with Alabama and perhaps Auburn, is separating itself from the rest of the SEC. Read all about it in my latest SEC Report for CBS Local.
Every Tuesday, I’ll be recapping the week that was in SEC football and looking ahead to the coming Saturday. My first report covers Alabama’s big win over Florida State and the mixed results for the rest of the conference. I’ll continue to post links to the stories, which appear on CBS Local, here.
With that weird first-week-but-not-really Saturday behind us, Steve and I talk preview Week 1 of the college football season, highlighted by No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 3 Florida State. Remember to join our pick ’em group on ESPN by searching for the Scoop and Score Podcast.
The college football playoff field is set. Do we agree with the selections? Of course we do. It wasn’t that hard. We look at other bowl match-ups and tackle some interesting questions from listeners. Subscribe and rate, for once!
Actual good games to discuss this week, so we do that, sort of. There’s not much individual game analysis, but there’s plenty of playoff scenario discussion. Who controls their own destiny? Is there a path for Western Michigan? Plus, an official end to #NittanyWatch.
Among the answering of random questions from listeners, “political” “discussion,” and other nonsense, there is some college football talk. And if you want the nitty gritty, skip to the 55:30 mark for my chat with ratings guru Brian Fremeau of Football Outsiders. Steve would be sad if you did that, though.
